Naples Boating Communities
Port Royal on the south part of the peninsula that also includes Old Naples and Aqualane Shores, is the premier boating community in Naples. Of the 500 or so single-family houses in the community, most have back-yard docks on Naples Bay or one of the deep-water feeder canals, a few of which can handle boats up to 100 feet in length. On the western side of the neighborhood, beachfront mansions line the Gulf of Mexico.
Boaters can get to the Gulf of Mexico within minutes via Gordon Pass. Marine facilities are available at the City Dock in Old Naples. Residents on almost all the streets in Port Royal are eligible for membership in the Port Royal Club, which is directly on the beach. It has nine tennis courts, dining facilities and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
Seagate is a secluded community of about 90 single family homes on canals with access for small boats to Clam Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the original homes remain, some have been reconstructed, and others have been torn down to make way for new homes. The neighborhood is just south of Seagate Drive and the Naples Grande hotel and within walking distance of the upscale Waterside Shops.
The Quarry is a master-planned community on 830 acres designed around three large lakes. It has beach, tennis and golf lodges with swimming pools, fitness centers, retail shops and elegant spa services. Hurdzan-Fry, called among the top ten architects in the U.S. by Golf World, designed the Quarry’s golf course.
The 310-acre Longshore-Lake community has 565 single-family homes, many located on its 88-acre lake. Residents may use kayaks, canoes and electric-powered pontoon boats on the lake. Amenities include a clubhouse with dining room, bar and grill; fitness center; heated swimming pool and nine lighted Har-Tru tennis courts managed by a tennis pro.
